From a tube of inner radius 4cm, water is flowing at an average speed of 2m/sec. Calculate the rate of flow.

Given:

  • radius, r = 4 cm
  • height, h = 2 m or 200 cm ( Since, Water travels 200 cm in one second )

Since It is a tube in the shape of a cylinder. So,

Water flowing through the tube is the volume of the cylinder.

We know,

 \boxed{V = \pi r^2 h}

 \Rightarrow \quad \pi \times 4 \times 4 \times 200 \\ \Rightarrow \quad \pi \times 3200 \\ \quad \; \: \boxed{V = 3200\pi }

Therefore,  \bold{3200\pi \: cm^3} of water is flowing through the tube in one second or rate of flow.
