h/(1-x) = tan 30°
solving for h = √3/4
h/x=tan 60°
h/(1-x) = tan 30°

The two kilometers stones are consecutive so between two kilometers stones the distance is 1 km, so if on right side its x then on the left side it should be 1-x. Now did you understand??
