From historical data it was found that the rainfall received by Kerela in the month of August was normally distributed with a mean of 1600 mm and a standard deviation of 400 mm. Lets suppose that floods are caused when the rainfall in August exceeds 2400mm. What is the probability that the state would experience a flood?

Answer:

(1600÷2400)×400 = 266.666668÷100 = ~2%
