Given:

The height of the cylindrical cup = 105cm

The diameter of the cylindrical cup = 7cm

The diameter of the hemispherical cup = 7cm

To Find:

The volume of both the cups

Solution:

The volume of the Cylindrical cup:

The volume of a cylinder with height h and radius r = πr²h

The radius of the given cylinder = diameter / 2

= 7 / 2 cm

The volume of the cylindrical cup = \pi X (\frac{7}{2} )^2 X 105 cm^3

Taking π = 22 / 7, we get

Volume = \frac{11X7X105}{2}

= 4042.5 cm³

The volume of the Hemispherical cup:

The volume of a hemisphere with radius R = \frac{2}{3} \pi R^3

The radius of the given cup = diameter / 2

= 7 / 2 cm

The volume of the hemispherical cup = \frac{2}{3} X \frac{22}{7}X (\frac{7}{2} )^3

= 11 X 49 / 3 X 2

= 89.83 cm³

Hence the volume of the cylindrical cup and hemispherical cup is 4042.5 cm³ and 89.83 cm³ respectively.
