Answer:

Given : triangle psq is right angle

x^2 + 40^2 = 41^2

x^2 + 40 × 40 = 41 × 41

x^2 + 1600 = 1681

x^2 = 1681 - 1600

x^2 = 81

x = 81

x = 9

length of ps,= 9mm

Answer:

The length of Ps is 9 mm

Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN,

The length of SQ is 41 mm.

The length of PQ is 40 mm.

SINCE,SPQ is a right angled triangle .

So,using pythagoras theorem

{sq}^{2}  =  {pq}^{2}  +  {sp}^{2}

 {41}^{2}  =  {40}^{2}  +  {ps}^{2}

 {ps}^{2}  =  {41}^{2}  -  {40}^{2}

 {ps}^{2}  = 1681 - 1600

 {ps}^{2}  = 81

ps =  \sqrt{81}

ps = 9

Therefore, the length of ps is 9 mm
