If the time taken by one pendulum to reach its mean position from the extreme position is 1.25 seconds then a pendulum will move to two extreme positions from one mean position only.

That will means that the total time period = 2 * 1.25 = 2.50 seconds.

Since, a pendulum will move from mean to the extreme, extreme to mean, mean to the extreme and again extreme to mean, it will cover 2 cycles.

Hence, 2 * 2.50 = 5 sec
