❇️ Question :-

Find the value of x in the figure.

 \\  \\

❇️ Solution :-

In ∆ABC,

<A + <B + <C = 180° [Angle sum property]

70° + 40° + <C = 180°

110° + <C = 180°

<C = 180° - 110°

<C = 70°

---------------------------------------------------

<ACB + ACD + <DCE = 180° [Linear pair]

70° + x + 90° = 180°

160° + x = 180°

x = 180° - 160°

x = 20°

Therefore, x = 20°.

 \\  \\

❇️ Verification :-

<ACB + <ACD + <DCE = 180° [Linear pair]

70° + 20° + 90° = 180°

90° + 90° = 180°

180° = 180°

Hence, verified !!

In ∆ABC,

<A + <B + <C = 180° [Angle sum property]

70° + 40° + <C = 180°

110° + <C = 180°

<C = 180° - 110°

<C = 70°

<ACB + ACD + <DCE = 180° [Linear pair]

70° + x + 90° = 180°

160° + x = 180°

x = 180° - 160°

x = 20°

Therefore, x = 20°.

Verification :-

<ACB + <ACD + <DCE = 180° [Linear pair]

70° + 20° + 90° = 180°

90° + 90° = 180°

180° = 180°

Hence Verified
