 no of electrons= atomic no

b.  c is inert gas

    its atomic no is 2 so the first shell is fully filled and has valency zero

c.  b will form negative ion

   its atomic no is 9 and it requires only 1 electron to attain nobel gas               configuration  so it will gain one electron and acquire -ve charge

d. d has 12 neutron

as no of neutron = mass no - atomic no

so 23-11=12

e.  d will form cation with 1 +ve charge

     it has 11 atomic no and one electron in outer most shell so it will loose one to attain noble gas configuration and acquire positive charge.
