These are the following reasons why a street child has no childhood.
- A child born on the streets has a very tough life. He has to work from a very young age to feed himself and his family as can be evidenced from the story.
- The future prospects of such a child are also limited. Due to a lack of resources school is a distant dream for most of these children.
- They have to carry on their hereditary work as they are trapped in a vicious cycle from which it is extremely difficult.
- These children are denied even the basic necessities of life like good drinking water, shelter, and clothes.
- Their childhood is spent doing odd jobs like rag picking and in the future, they find some other minor job and have to suffice with that.
- Even after working for many years, they have no retirement and they still linger in poverty.
