Given; From the top of a building 20m, high the angle of elevation of the top of the vertical pole is 30° and the angle of depression of the foot of the same pole is 60°.

To Find; Height of pole

Solution; Let the remaining portion of the vertical portion is x. Then the total height of the pole will be 20+x

In the lower triangle tanx= 20/y (y is distance)

√3=20/y

y=20/√3

In upper triangle

tan30=x/y

1/√3=x√3/ 20

20/3=x

Hence the total height is 80/3m
