Given:

From the top of a wall of height 5 m, a ball is thrown horizontally with speed of 6 m/s.

To find:

Range of ball ?

Calculation:

  • This is a case of AIR-GROUND PROJECTILE:

h =  u_{y}(t)  +  \dfrac{1}{2} g {t}^{2}

 \implies \: 5 = 0(t) + 5 {t}^{2}

 \implies \:  {t}^{2}  = 1

 \implies \:  t = 1 \: sec

Now, range of ball will be :

R =  u_{x} \times t

 \implies \: R = 6 \times 1

 \implies \: R = 6  \: metres

So, range of ball is 6 metres .

To find:

Range of ball ?

Calculation:

  • This is a case of AIR-GROUND PROJECTILE:

h = uy( t) +  \frac{1}{2} g + 2

 =  >  {t}^{2}  = 1

 =  > t = 1sec

1sec

Now, range of ball will be

r = ux \times t

 =  > r = 6 \times 1

 =  > r = 6 \: metres

So, range of ball is 6 metres
