Angle of Depression = 30°

Height of cliff = 80m

tan 30° = Height of cliff / distance of cliff from boat

1/√3 = 80 / distance of cliff from boat

Distance of cliff from boat = 80√3

                                           = 80 x 1.732

Therefore, Distance of boat from the cliff = 138.56 m

Thus, distance of boat from the foot of the cliff is 138.56m.
