From the top of the tower 24m high,the angles of depression of the top and the foot of a pole are obserbed to be 45° ,60° respectively.Find the height of the pole.

Let the height of the pole be h and the distance between the pole and tower be x.

It can be observed that,

tan60∘=x50

3=x50

x=350

And,

tan45∘=x50−h

1=x50−h

50−h=x

50−h=350

h=50−350

h=350(3−1)

h=21.1m

Therefore, the height of the pole is 21.1m.
