from ΔADC
tan45 = cd/ad
1 = 100/ad
ad = 100m
from ΔBDC
tan30= cd/bd
1/√3 = 100/bd
bd = 100√3
the distance of the cars = BD+AD
= 100√3+100
= 173.2 +100
= 273.2m
