From the tower, 100m high, a man observes two cars on the opposite sides of the tower with the angles of depression 30 degree and 45 degree respectively. Find the distance between the cars. ( use pi = 22/7 )


2019: Sry it's nt pi it's (use root 3 = 1.73

given that 
AB is the distance between the to cars
CD is the height of the tower = 100m
the angle of depression is 45 and 30
from ΔADC
tan45 = cd/ad
1 = 100/ad
ad = 100m

from ΔBDC
tan30= cd/bd
1/√3 = 100/bd
bd = 100√3
the distance  of the cars = BD+AD
= 100√3+100
= 173.2 +100
= 273.2m
