Artificial ventilation is used to get a supply of oxygen for artificial respiration. it basically stimulates oxygen in a person. Artificial ventilation or artificial respiration is provided to a person whose natural respiratory system is disturbed or who has a problem in breathing. For this reason mechanical ventilator is also used to move air in or out of the lungs when a person feels problem in breathing. this apparatus is usually present in Intensive Care Unit. Its usually for the patients during surgery, in anesthesia or in a state of coma.

There is still oxygen left in the last breath inhaled, which is what is transferred to the recipient's lungs. None of the air in the nose, throat, or trachea has been exchanged, and is similar to that in the environment.
