Devanagari is a very young script, and it emerged around the same time as Hindi when Hindi originated from Arabic and Farsi mixing with Braj and Avadhi. TheDevanagari script too evolved by borrowing elements from other scripts. The belts which spoke Hindi adopted Devanagari as their standard script for Sanskrit
