Answer:

Before any explanation I mention here that India is the colony of Britain and from the time of its first battle to revolt of 1857 the policies were dominated by the newly powerful group in England which were capitalist(who wanted to make profit through investment) and producer (who wanted to develop their market not even in india but in other parts of world).

Introduction of railways in india

The whole money or capital for the investment came from the capitalist class of Britain in the promise of profit which was something 350 crore. Initially the task of development of railway was done by private contractors.

The main purpose is to develop trade (collection of raw material from villages and farms to emporium(trading or exporting depots) and to distribute imported mill made goods to remotest part of country.

The railway, thus became important and cheap means of communication and transportation in comparison of latter network of transportation which was dominated by bullock carts and on backs of animals.

Latter (from1850s onwards) the railway was use to collect ores from mines which was exported to England for production and the finished goods was imported in india.

The railway unify the country’s people and it's economy. It was latter use by people for transportation. Railway play important role in administration and in communication and transportation network. It provide a means of communication between cities and countryside.

Railway provide an easy way for the transportation of soldiers in the situation of war and revolt.

At last remember that the sole purpose of introduction of railway is to represent the interest of Britain and it's capitalist and business class people and to provide them profit.
