From where the extra percentage of co2 is exhaled?

The percentage of oxygen and carbon dioxide in inhaled air is 21% and 0.04% respectively. During respiration, oxygen is used up by the cells producing carbon dioxide. The percentage of carbon dioxide in exhaled air is 4.4% and oxygen is 14-16% and nitrogen is 78%.
