The finest wool is obtained from Merino sheep.It is a breed of sheep that is used for wool production.
Bakharwal is a breed of sheep that provides wool for making walls.
Lohi & Nali breed of sheep produce soft wool that can be used for weaving carpets.
Marwari breed of sheep produced coarse wool which is used for making rough textured woollen carpets.
Animals like camel , rabbit , Yak ,goats also produce wool other than sheep.
The Alpaca breed of camel gives fibres which are light weight, soft and Shiny in nature.
The cashmere goat gives soft and warm fibre which is called cashmere fibre.
The angora goat gives light , warm and durable fibre called Mohair.
The angora breed of rabbit gives angora wool. This will is soft , fluffy and warmer than normal wool due to its hollow fibres.
