Ramapitecus is descended from homo erectus.

It is an extinct group of the primates and the ancestor of Australopithecus i.e. the modern evolved form of human beings. These fossils were traced and found in the parts of Northern India, Shivalik hills and parts of eastern Africa.

The study of this fossil traced it to be rather an ape like living creature that could be found years ago and hence a traceable ancestor of the human being.
