THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO, PLANT AND ANIMAL REMAINS WERE SUBJECTED TO HIGH TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE WHEN THEY WERE PRESSED UNDER THE DEPOSITS OF SOIL OVER TIME. THEY WERE THIS CONVERTED TO FOSSIL FUELS.
