- We can immerse the base of the the plant from where it is cut to prevent entry of air into the xylem immediately into the water.
- We can avoid cavitation of the plant. Since it doesn't get its nutrition from the plant anymore, we can provide additional nutrition.
- Cytokinin can be added to the water which delays the senescence of the plant.
- Essential oils can be also used to increase its lifetime in the vase. Sanitisation should be maintain by using antibacterial spray.
