Pressure = force/area
The sharper the knife is, lesser is the area of contact. The lesser the area of contact, higher will be the pressure applied.
Let’s assume that we have force of 100 Newtons and area is 1 meter squared. So the pressure applies will be 100 pascal. Now, let’s assume we reduce the area to 0.5 meter squared. Then, the pressure applied will equal to 200 pascal. Hence, it’s easier to cut fruits with a sharper knife.
Hope that clears any doubt you had :)
