In the chapter 'Iswaran the Story Teller' there was a man named Mahendra. He was a engineer and was a junior supervisor in a factory. His post was not fixed. He had frequent transfers and Iswaran was a man who had accompanied him in his every transfer. Iswaran was a chief, housekeeper, and Mahendra's companion. He had the ability to narrate a even very small incident with a great interest and suspense. He was in the habit of leaving his fictions stories in between without an end. For example- If he had saw an uprooted tree on his way he would narrate like this. I was alone in the path and I saw a big giant green beast lying on the ground. I was scared but my curiosity made me to came near to it. When I came near to it, I found that, it was an uprooted tree. In the same manner, he would narrate the story of the elephant who became mad and ran away from the timber yard and came to my school destroying everything. He was in the top of the roof with his teachers and then he took a stick from his teacher's hand and threw it to the elephant's toe. Then the elephant fainted and it was controlled by the police. He told that it was a Japanese art technique to paralyze someone. It was a daily routine of Mahendra to listen his fascinated stories at night when he came back home from work. But due to his one story, a big incident happened. One night Iswaran told him a haunted story. He told him that this place is haunted and earlier was a graveyard. He told that at the full moon night a female ghost come here which had a foetus of a baby in her hand. Mahendra became scared from it and at every full moon night he became scared. But after few days he became frightened every night wether it was a full moon night or not. One night when he was trying to sleep he heard a moaning sound which was coming near to his room. Firstly, he thought that it was a cat but when sound became too louder it became guttural for a cat's sound. He became wet of full of sweat and tried to put asleep. But his curiosity made him to pull his head up and see through the window what's there. When he peeked his head he saw a women with a foetus in his hand which was like what Iswaran told him. He pull his bedsheets over his head and chanted the name of God slept. Next day morning, when he was going to his work he thought that he had a nightmare last night. But Iswaran told him that that moaning sound was real and he too saw that female ghost. Mahendra got shocked by hearing it and immediately went to his office and gave the resigning letter that he couldn't work Ina haunted place. Actually that was Iswaran in that dress and created that moaning noise.
