full form of CFC is chlorofluorocarbons.

chlorofluorocarbons is a chemical containing the atoms of chlorine, carbon and fluorine. it's used in refrigerators, paints, airconditioners, foam etc.

yeah it's useful but it's also damaging the ozone layer. the main reason for the depletion of ozone layer is CFCs.

we know the importance of ozone layer, it prevents uv (ultraviolet) rays to fall on the Earth's surface. that's why CFCs is banned many years ago.

now HCFcs (hydrochlorofluorocarbons) is used instead of it. it also damage the ozone layer but not as much as CFCs.
