HCF = Highest Common Factor
Any number can be shown as the product of .prime numbers.
Lets take an example: We have numbers 8, 20, 32
8 can be written in the form = 2 x 2 x 2
20 can be written as = 2 x 2 x 5
32 can be written as = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2
Now looking at the expanded form of these three numbers, you will see that 2 x 2 features in all three.
2 x 2 = 4; and this will be the H.C.F. (Highest common factor) for our three numbers 8,20 and 32.
