The full form of ok is… OK.

Though some people (myself included) spell it “okay” from time to time, it was originally “OK”.

In the early to mid 1800s in New York, there was a fadwhere acronyms would be made from phrases that were intentionally misspelled. Most of them are lost to history, but one gained such widespread use that it survives today.

That phrase was “Orl Korrect” (all correct) … which lives on as OK.
