Explanation:

BRAIN:

• brain is the coordinating head of the human body
• brain is protected by a bony box called 'Cranium' or skull
• there are 3 meninges or layers which help in protection of the brain
• CSF or cerebro spinal fluid is present in between the layers to protect the brain from mechanical shockwaves.

PARTS OF BRAIN:

1. FOREBRAIN: the forebrain is further divided into smaller parts which are olfactory lobes, cerebrum and dinecephalon. the OLFACTORY LOBES are the areas where all the impulses of smell arrives. the CEREBRUM is the main thinking part of the brain and recieves all the impulses of thinking. DINECEPHALON contains hypothalamus gland.
2. MIDBRAIN: the midbrain is further divided into four button like structures called 'corpora quadrigeminia'. they recieve optical signals from the eyes and also controls all the relay signals.
3. HINDBRAIN: it is further divided into pons varolli, cerebellum and medulla oblongata. PONS VAROLLI controls some aspects of respiration. CEREBELLUM maintains posture and equilibrium of the body. MEDULLA OBLONGATA controls all the involuntary actions in the body like rate of breathing etc.
