rectifiers are circuits which will convert alternating current to one directional pulsatile current.
Example: phone chargers.
Now see the attached photo.
For half wave rectifiers, in the +ve cycle the p-n junction diode is in forward bias and hence allows current. But in the negative cycle it is in reverse bias and hence does not allow current. So current flows in 1 direction. SEE THE GRAPHS IN THE PHOTO.
