Functions:
• Stomata helps in gaseous movement:
Taking in oxygen and giving out carbon dioxide at night.
Taking in carbon dioxide and giving out oxygen during day.
• it helps in transpiration.
Parts:
Stomata has got stomatal pores, guard cells and subsidiary cells.
The opening and closing of stomatal pores is controlled by the guard cells which become turgid when water is required and become flaccid ( flat) when water is not required.

Specialized sales known as guard cells surrounded stomata and function to open and close stomatal pores. stomata allow a plant to take in carbon dioxide, which is needed for photosynthesis stomata look like tiny mouths which open and close as they assist in transpiration.
