the functions are.

1]it is important in survival of all living organisms.it not only protects the interior part of the cell but also protects to maintain the shape of the cell.

2]it protects and seperates the interior part of the cell from external environment.

3]act as a semipermiable membrane becaz it doesnot allow the entry of all molecules to the cell.

4]helps in exocytosis and endocytosis

5]in some cells it plays an important role in immunity
