Functions of Bile juice :

◼Neutralization of hydrochloric acid or generally HCl.

◼Emulsification of fat in which large fat globules break into small fat globules.

◼Bile contains no enzyme but it activates the enzyme lipase.

◼Bile is alkaline and hence it prevents the decomposition of food preventing the growth of bacteria on it.

◼Bile juice increases peristalsis of the intestine.
