1) the plant body of gymnosperms is sporophyte

2) it produces prominent structures called cones

3) there are female cones and male cones

4) males cones contain numerous microsporophylls , which produce microdpores ( male gametes )

5) female cones contains megasporophylls , which produce ovule containing female gametes

6) the fusion product is zygote and it becomes seed , there is no flowers & fruits.
