The main function of enzymes is that it helps in digestion of food in stomach

When food enters into the stomach ,its cells secrete gastrin hormones which stimulate secretion of gastric juices by gastric glands .

Enzymes and their functions are listed below:

Rennin: Active in childhood stage of mammals . It acts on milk protein Casein.

Pepsin:It breaks protein into smaller molecules .(Basic digestion of protein takes place in stomach )

Gastric Lipase:It converts fats into fatty acids and monoglycerides.

In addition hydrochloric acid is secreted by parietal cells which activates inactive pepsinogen to pepsin and destroys bacteria in food . Also mucus is secreted by mucus neck cells
