The function of Proteases-enzyme.Protease refers to a group of enzymeswhose catalytic function is to hydrolyze peptide bonds of proteins. They are also called proteolytic enzymes or proteinases. ... For example, in the small intestine, proteases digest dietary proteins to allow absorption of amino acids.

Proteolytic enzymes are group of enzymes that function in the catabolism of proteins by breaking the peptide bonds between the amino acids. They are also known as Proteases and peptidases. These enzymes help in the digestion of proteins that are present in diet. In stomach, Pepsin is present that is a proteolytic enzyme. It attacks the large protein molecules converting them into partially digested particles and than pass them to the intestine where they are further broken down into fine particles.
