  • The function of stomata are as follow :
  1. It control gas exchange in leaf.
  2. The closing and opening of stomata depends on how turgid its guard cells are.
  3. During day water and oxgen vapours of the leaves is in greater quantity.
  4. Photosynthesis diffuses carbondioxide into the leaf .
  5. It helps in loss of excess water in plants [i.e transpiration of water]
  6. It creates suction pull which helps in absorption of water from roots.
