Stomata: These are small openings in plants in their leaves and stems that helps them in respiration.
The gas exchange that occurs when stomata are open facilities photosynthesis.
Both photosynthesis , carbon dioxide is taken in from the atmosphere through stomata and oxygen is released as a waste product.
It helps in gaseous exchange.
An unfortunate side effect of stomata opening is that it allows for water loss.
