Functional characters of community which changed during succession of (c) complexity of food web.
Explanation:
Due to changes in the environment, new creatures come in place of the previous life and a new community is established, it is called ecological succession.
The two types of ecological succession are:
- Primary succession:
Such a community could be established in an area where there was no biological community at first, this succession could start in any area, such as after the eruption of the volcano, when the lava was cold, on the naked rocks, or the new plant community on the newly built pond. It can be developed as natural indexing, it can take thousands of years in this sequencing/ succession.
- Secondary succession:
This succession starts in those areas where a plant community lived first but destroyed by natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, etc. In these areas, new plant communities develop quickly after fertile soil.
