DNA is a long thread like structure which has the codes for the proteins needed by your body. It is present in the nucleus of the cell.

In DNA, there are generally 4 nitrogen bases. Namely Cytosine, Guanine, Adanine and Thymine.

A collective group of these 4 nitrogen bases is called a gene. This gene is the functional part of a DNA.
