Plasma is the fluid matrix of blood.
It forms about 55% of the blood by volume.
Dissolved are found proteins ,inorganic salts, nutrients ,hormones, antibodies ,nitrogenous wastes and gases.

Functions :

Blood plasma transports and distributes nutrients , oxygen and hormones to various cells of the body and removes nitrogenous waste and carbon dioxide.

Prothrombin and fibrinogen present in plasma help in blood coating.
Antibodies provide immunity against microbial infection.
