1. Providing definite shape.
2. Protection of internal organs such as the heart, brain and lungs.
3. Providing surface for the attachment of muscles.
4. Acting as a system of levers.
5. Production of RBCs and other blood cells in the red bone marrow found at the ends of long bones and spongy bones.
6. Helping in movement and locomotion.
7. Storehouse of minerals such as calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, etc.
