INVOLUNTARY NERVOUS SYSTEM:

  1. It controls the tissues and muscles of organs such as Stomach, Heart, Blood vessels and Intestines.
  2. It also controls the Exocrine and Endocrine glands such as Salivary glands, Thyroid glands, Adrenal glands, Sweat glands, etc.
  3. One part of the involuntary nervous system helps the body rest, relax, and digest food (Sympathetic nervous system).
  4. Whereas, the other part of the involuntary nervous system helps a person fight or take flight in an emergency (Parasympathetic nervous system).
  5. It is also called ANS (or) Autonomic nervous system.
