Functions of the nervous system are sensory input, integration, control of muscles and glands, homeostasis, and mental activity.Nerves carry the signals to the brain.

Cells comprising the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system are classified as neural tissue. In the central nervous system,neural tissue forms the brain and spinal cord and,in the peripheral nervous system, it forms the cranial nerves and spinal nerves,inclusive of the motor neurons. The main function of the nervous system is to send signals to the brain according to which it works.
