Functions of Nervous Tissue :

  • Neurons collectively make up the bulk of human nervous tissue, sensing the impulse, relaying the same to neuromuscular coordinator and responding appropriately to the impulse are all the functions of nervous tissue.

  • Synchrony between two different organs for facilitating a common process.

  • Emotions and Memory are due to the presence of nervous tissue.

  • In addition to neurons, neuroglia, glial cells and schwann cells constitute the nervous system, neuroglia protects the neurons during signal conduction.

  • Further, body posture, walking, running etc are carried out by neuromuscular tissue.
