In male testosterone plays a key role in the development of male reproductive tissues such as testes and prostate, as well as promoting secondary sexual characteristics such as increased muscle and bone mass, and the growth of body hair.

1) It stimulates the growth and development of male secondary sex organs like the seminal vesicles, prostate glance and Penis. It also helps to maintain their normal functions. Because these organs do not produce gametes (sperms in a simple way) and only help in reproduction are, therefore, called secondary sex organs.

2) This hormone also stimulates development of the male secondary sexual characteristics like beard, moustache, low-pitch male voice in man, enlarged breasts in women and assists in the growth of pubic hair.

3) Testosterone also stimulates the formation of sperms in the seminiferous tubules of the testes.

4) Last one, it also promotes the growth of many body tissues such as bones and muscles. It is due to this fact that male has a higher stature and musculature than the female.
