✴What is Uterus ?

=> Uterus is a Hollow , Muscular Organ which forms a main part of the Female Reproductive System .


=> It's shape is like that of a Pear . It is fitted in an Inverted position Within the Pelvic Cavity .


=> The Inferior part of the Cervix connects it to the Female Copulatory Organ that acts as a Sphincter Muscle .


✴Tissues making up the walls of Uterus =>


=> The Peremetrium forms the outermost layer . This layer mainly protects the Uterus from Friction .


=> The Myometrium Forms the Middle layer . This layer allows the Uterus to Expand and Contract accordingly.

=>Inside the Myometrium , there is a further more layer of Endo-Metrium . This layer provides support and Nourishment .



✴Functions of Uterus =>

=> The Uterus can Expand from the size of a fist to as much as holding a fully developed baby .

=>It's main Function is to accept the fertilized Ovum .

=> It Provides Nutrition and Nourishment , Nurturing the growing embryo .

=> It holds the Baby till Birth .

=> Due to its Strong structure , it plays a major role in propelling the Baby out of the Body .

The uterus,  highly elastic median sac specialized for the development of the embryo(or a fertilized egg).
1)It receives the ovum from the fallopian tubes
2)forms placenta for the development of the foetus and
3)expels the young one at birth.
