Functions of veins and midrib are pretty much same.
Midrib is the thickest vein in the leaflamina. Lateral veins arrises from midrib.
Functions:
1. Provide mechanical support to the leaf.
2. Helps in transport of water and minerals to mesophyll cells.
3. Helps in transport of food synthesised by mesophyll cells to cells.
