Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic:-

Every composite numbers can be expressed (factorised) as a product of primes and this factorisation is unique, apart from the order in which the prime factors occur.

Some Examples:-

  1.  4 = 2 \times 2 = {2}^{2}
  2.  8 = 2 \times 2 \times 2 = {2}^{3}
  3.  9 = 3 \times 3 = {3}^{2}
  4.  16 = 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2 = {2}^{2} \times {2}^{2}
  5.  100 = 2 \times 2 \times 5 \times 5 = {2}^{2} \times {5}^{2}
