Yes they are but they can be more lrecisely said to be saprotrophic

Hello everyone!!

Yes, most fungi are heterotrophic but some fungi absorb solute organic matter from dead substrates and hence are called saprophytes. They can also live as parasites, symbionts and mycorrhizae.
