(x − 3)(x - 2) = 6.
x(x-2)-3(x-2)=6
x²-2x-3x+6=6
x²-2x-3x+6-6=0
x²-5x=0
Substituting x=5 in L. H. S of the given equation
L.H.S= x²-5x
=(5)²-5(5)
=25-25
=0
=R.H.S
∴ L.H.S=R.H.S
Thus equation is satisfied
∴x=5 is the root of the given quadratic equation.
