(x − 3)(x - 2) = 6.

x(x-2)-3(x-2)=6

x²-2x-3x+6=6

x²-2x-3x+6-6=0

x²-5x=0

Substituting x=5 in L. H. S of the given equation

L.H.S= x²-5x

=(5)²-5(5)

=25-25

=0

=R.H.S

∴ L.H.S=R.H.S

Thus equation is satisfied

∴x=5 is the root of the given quadratic equation.
